12. Critical Reflection

ChatGPT was used to correct my grammatical errors. Module Learning At the start of this module (USC1001 - Critical Thinking and Communication), my goal was to approach engineering problems from multiple perspectives and develop effective solutions. I have made some progress by researching articles on the topic I was working on and collaborating closely with my teammates, which allowed me to consider the technical, ethical, and practical aspects of problems. This process has helped me understand the importance of evaluating challenges from various angles. However, I still tend to focus too heavily on technical solutions and sometimes overlook stakeholder perspectives. To improve, I plan to engage in more case studies and practice reflective writing, which will help me develop a more holistic approach to problem-solving.  Additionally, I aimed to improve my presentation skills and become more confident in engaging my audience. While I have made efforts to organise my presentatio...

11. Readers Response Draft 4 (Updated)

ChatGPT was used to correct my grammatical errors. The 2017 Porsche 919 Hybrid is powered by an upgraded aerodynamic design and a drive system that combines a 2.0-liter turbocharged V4 internal combustion engine with an electric motor (Goodwin. G, 2017). The combination of both electric and chemical energy provides a total output of over 900 horsepower (hp), with approximately 500 hp generated by the engine through direct fuel injection, and more than 400 hp supplied by the energy recovery systems that store energy in lithium-ion batteries and power the electric motor at the front axle. These systems include (1) the Kinetic Energy Recovery System (ERS-K), which recovers nearly 60% of the energy generated during deceleration at the front wheels, and (2) the Heat Energy Recovery System (ERS-H), which generates electrical energy by utilising the heat produced from the exhaust gases (Porsche AG, 2017). This output of over 900 hp, along with regulatory considerations, enables the car to...

10. Formal Letter to My Instructor (Updated)

ChatGPT was used to correct my grammatical errors. Dear Professor Blackstone, My name is Tan Ye Xiong, and I am currently a first-year student at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). I am writing this letter to share to you about my educational background, communication strengths and weaknesses, my goals for this module, as well as the factors that inspired me to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering and what sets me apart from others. My educational journey  has played a crucial role  in shaping my interest in engineering. During my primary and secondary school years, I excelled in mathematics and science, which cultivated my problem-solving skills and curiosity for understanding how things work. This curiosity grew into a passion during my time at Nanyang Polytechnic, where I graduated with a diploma in Engineering with Business. The combination of technical and business knowledge gave me a deeper appreciation for how engineering solutions impact the real wo...
